The Sponge Throw

Walt: Write A Sucsessful Piece Of Writing

Today was one of the best days for me of this whole entire year.
This activity included a spunge, and a bucket of freezing and ice-cold water.
Do you have any idea what activity we did?

As Mr Goodwin my teacher brought our entire year together to sit on the big mat with every year six sitting down with folded arms and legs sitting up straight and their glistening teeth shining bright at all the people who were standing in front of us! About 10 minutes later Mr Goodwin suggested a guessing game for us and one of the things he said that we had to answer was “what are we doing today” he shouted in an enthusiastic voice. It took awhile for everyone to figure it out but soon later someone called out “the fun thingy” everyone was giggling and laughing just after she said it and she was laughing as well, “yes the fun thingy” Mr Goodwin replied trying to catch his breath and sooner or later he did and told everyone to quiet down! After he had given us little hints on what we were going to be doing he told all of the year 6’s to form 2 lines for every class and to start walking to the bottom field where we would find out this mystery behind all this!

Once we got there we were ordered to sit down again and listen carefully to the instructions that Mr Somerville and Mr Jacobsen explained to us “ok everyone today we are going to play… Soak the teacher. So how you play is by forming three lines behind each bucket and sponge” while Mr Somerville was explaining I took a quick peek of the sponge and bucket and grinned cause’ I think I had a little idea of what we were doing. (This is carrying on from Mr Somerville) “And throw it at your teacher but stay in line and 3 at a time since there's three buckets for every teacher and the number one rule is WET YOUR TEACHER!” He shouted as hard as he could while everyone yelled in excitement and we soon began the game! I was third in line when we started and was smiling the biggest I could, once our teachers sat down on their chairs we laughed in what we were seeing Mr Goodwin was definitely prepared he had a pair of Flip Flops/Flippers on his feet and a massive snorkel goggle on his head.

Once everyone was ready Mr Jacobsen started the countdown “Three, Two, One, GŌ!” and Mr Somerville and Mr Jacobsen told the people in front of the buckets to stand up, grab their sponge, soak it with as much water as possible and “ready, aim, FIRE!” Mr Somerville said and the kids threw the sponges at their teachers and damaging their bodies with every hit as possible but most of them missed and quickly ran and got their sponge and dipped it back into the water. The same rules applied to everyone! Throw after throw the teachers were soaking, there were a couple of other people who went for inappropriate places and headshots but the teachers were to busy having fun to even know. When it was my turn I missed almost all my shots but came back with a win by squeezing the sponge all over his head and rubbing it on his face!

Once everyone had four turns each it was time to pack up but before that there was a little treat being handed out to the best throwers which was obviously not me but three people from every class got to pour their bucket of water over their teachers heads. The three that were picked from our class were Paschal, Chance and Loseti and they were ready to get revenge on their teacher! All at once they picked up the bucket and poured it over the teachers heads they were soaking. Soon after that we all lined up and headed back to class telling our friends all the fun we had!

Conclusion: I would recommend this experience to others. This activity is more fun to do with friends! I had loads of fun with my friends!

Task Description:
This week we had a test to write and it had to be a recount, so to make a recount you need to make an experience or activity to do to write a recount! The experience was called (The Sponge Throw)!

Blindfolds

Today we had an amazing experience.
This experience involved a blindfold, and skill.
Have you ever had so much fun in a blindfold game?


Today our class were going on a fun and enjoyable experience, for our writing. While we were in our
class, Room 7, we listened very carefully to Mr Goodwin as he demanded us to walk quickly and quietly
outside to line up in two lines. Mr Goodwin was holding a plastic bag with something in it I started to
wonder what was inside and what it had to do with this activity, or whatever was inside! It wasn’t a long
walk to the park on the bottom fields as we were told to sit down as soon we got there, while we were
there Mr Goodwin asked an old teacher that used to come to our school and asked if she could do the
honors of rating our walk to the park, she gave it a 4/10 which is all good, at least she was honest! We
were told the game we were playing and the instructions for it! We were playing… Blindfold, “yay!”
everyone shouted and cheered we all were told to quieten down as we were told the instructions “you
are to blindfold one member of your pair and guide them through as many obstacles as you can you
have three minutes” everyone quickly blindfolded and started!


It was me and Freedom together, he’s my best friend and he went first. I chose for him all the hard
obstacles like rock climbing, monkey bars, the fire fox and way more cool stunts that he got to have a
go on! He must’ve had a great time when it was his turn. I can even imagine how fun it would be, since
we both know the park very well he suggested that he wanted to jump off a very high bar that I wouldn’t
even have the guts to jump off but he is more interested in parkour way more than me. We could do the
craziest things but the number one rule was to keep the blindfolded member of your pair safe and luckily
no one got injured! His one took three minutes.


Once Freedom’s time was up he handed it straight over to me and tied it very fast, well I knew he
wanted to get going! We basically did the exact same thing but with smaller jumps and I stood on the top
of the firefox and had to jump off without even knowing I was going to but luckily I landed safely on my
feet but that did give me shivers! We swung on bars and I did the fireman pole which was very creepy
because I dropped so fast then I had to grab a rope and climb up a ramp to get to the top where I slid
down the fireman pole, Freedom kept trying to convince me to jump off but I didn’t have the guts to so I
slid down again, soon after that Mr Goodwin told us to come in and put the blindfolds away, then line up
in two straight lines and walk back to class! My one took 5 minutes for some reason!

I would definitely recommend this this to anyone and if your wondering will this be fun if you ask me I
would definitely say yes! If you are thinking on doing this experience then I would probably get a partner
to do it with you cause’ then you can be more safe and it’s way more fun! I actually had a lot of fun even
though I got a massive ground shock from jumping off the firefox!

The reason why it’s easier nowadays is because all you have to do is get out your camera, then click a button, and you have a picture saved with the data storage on your camera. Back then you had to get your camera, put a whole lot of stuff on the camera, then you have to carry the pictures around the entire place and, there really heavy!

Term 4 Goals and Expectations

The holidays have ended and school has started for this term our topic is Te Wā Toi/it’s art time.
Each teacher from our school, painted their art using all different kinds of ways!
Did you ever do this at your school?

What’s On this term? Well i’ll tell you. We have loads of things that are happening this term and I will only mention a few because I don’t want to bore you with everything because as my Mum always says “if your bored your boring” and I don’t want to make you boring! This term we are having The Manaiakalani Film Festival, Athletics, Year 6 camp, Art and Prize Giving!

My goals for this term are trying to get better at drawing and painting and becoming a pro drawer! The reason why I would love to get better at my drawing and painting is because I need to work better and put more detail when I draw on paper and coloring carefully between the lines when I try to paint nicely! Also it would just be so cool to be a pro drawer cause’ then I could draw famous pictures in art galleries and stuff!

What I want to learn about is history on famous arts and paintings from famous galleries from all around the world. I also want to learn about the ways that famous people drew things like Pablo Picasso, Leonardo Da Vinci and Vincent Van Gogh and what style they used to make such great and famous paintings! What I want to achieve this term is getting an awesome mark from testing since this is Pt England’s testing term!

This is going to be a wonderful term yet hard and overwhelming. We have a lot going on this term but the two things that I am most excited about is Year 6 Camp and Prize giving, I have two goals that I want to achieve this term to become a pro drawer and getting better at art just to make it look better than it was before, also I hope we learn about famous artists and paintings from all around the world and the history of famous artists and how they got ideas of their famous paintings. Overall this could be the best term of the entire year.

Check Out My Tiny Hand-sized 3D Printed House


Intro: This is my special 3D Printed House. This house took a long time to create, like three weeks! Have you ever made a 3D printed house?

Throughout term 3 my class and I have all created our own mini hand-sized houses with an LED light to make it glow in the dark. It’s actually pretty cool to see. The way we make these houses is by Tinkercad which is a cool website which you can create an account and make whatever you want using all sorts of blocks!

As you can see below that my house that I created has a see through chimney and my crafted initials just to the right and a garage all the way to the left. My house also includes of 13 hand-crafted windows, well that is if you count the chimney as well! I think that my house is the best because it stands out and also I think that my class took it to far making their house look to over the top!

To go with my house I added a little astronaut with a jetpack who I call… Astrobot, just to get people interested more in my house and Astrobot! Another reason why I added Astrobot is because he looks welcoming especially while he waves his hand in a nice, kind and good way. I also colored Astrobot grey because then he’ll stand out since his entire house is painted white!


Altogether the house, the LED light and even the Astrobot look good together which makes me very proud of my accomplishments as almost everytime I walk past someone they are stunned by my house my teacher has been showing off my work to other teachers and staff members of the school!

This week we had to create a spreadsheet to record our answers on how fast we can type, we only had one minute to write as many words as possible! Here is my score... 14 (since I was the only one on paper) because I suck so much! I came second to last because I am so slow on paper and super speedy on my chromebook! I was so fustrated when we finished because my chromebook just arrived and I could've won, I was so gutted! We were recording our answers for a data task that we haven't really been working on!

Super Power Creative Writing

My class and I have been thinking about what superpowers we want
to have. My superpower would be to speak parseltongue/snake
language and be able to create whatever I want, just by imagining it!
Have you ever thought of having your own superpower?


My superpower would be to speak parseltongue/snake language and
be able to create whatever I want, while i’m imagining whatever I
want I can see flashes in my head putting piece by piece together, e.g
I could create a 5 metre thick gold airplane that can actually fly.


The reason why I want to speak parseltongue is because if a snake
happens to seize me or trap me and I have nothing to do then I can
consult with them! When I use my superpowers I feel nothing
sometimes I don’t even know that i’m speaking parseltongue
sometimes but if I do it in public then some people get very afraid of
me and what i’m capable of!


I would use my superpowers only for myself  cause’ then I could have
everything but if something goes terrible like the end of the world or
something like that then I come and help out with the problem by
creating many things to stop it! I would use my superpowers to live a
happy and perfect life with anything I want!

I would think that my superpowers would be awesome because I
have always wanted many things in my life but couldn’t get them
because I wasn’t allowed or I couldn’t for it. The reason why I want
to speak parseltongue is because I have always been afraid of snakes
and since I can reason with one if one tries to attack me which would
definitely calm me down!
