Recount of 2015

After the Christmas holidays I was so excited that I was going to be a year 3, I was wondering of what class I was going to be in, I wanted to be in Miss King’s class or Miss Trimble’s but I was lucky to have Miss King.

When I started in her class I came everyday and did the right thing even when things got hard she enjoyed having she also said that I was a very good worker and for being nice to other people.

Well when a person named A.J.T started to be naughty Miss King told me to help him out he was quite silly but not all the time and that was good also in swimming lessons I was really good I was even in the highest group.

I enjoyed all the year three trips, we went to the museum and motat it was very very fun I loved it in Miss King’s class and even the Google expeditions which is basically these cool goggles because you would be on a roller coaster pretty fun right,! 

Some things were also quite bad but we would always sort the problems out we had no worry we'll sometimes there were huge problems going on in the class some of them were fights and for also saying bad words.

Every Tuesday after morning tea the kapa haka group would go to the hall and practice, I was one of them and I loved being in kapa haka I never got told off and always listened to whoever was speaking.

I was having so much fun in class well when it was morning tea I always enjoy it when it's morning tea or lunchtime I always and I mean always play with my friends or I just sit around but it isn't really fun but I'm you to it.

Well I'm in class I always seem to learn something from my teacher as you already know that it's the amazing Miss King who can almost always solve the problems but sometimes we just work it out.

Well sometimes she wouldn't even know how to use the apps she would just say” just muck around on it and see what you can do, it's  pretty fun I just loved being in my classroom with all my friends.

I loved being in her class she is even my favourite teacher out of all of team 3 and she was very very fun and I just totally loved it, I hope that she's my teacher for next year and that means that she's my favourite teacher in year 4.

Kapahaka Spark Performance

When the bus arrived to our school our kapa haka group were heading off to Spark I was one of them, I felt excited when we got on the bus the driver straight away started the engine, well on the way there everybody were singing any kind of songs that they knew.

I was getting quite annoyed but I didn't do anything or say anything, I just enjoyed the ride on the way to Spark, it was a kind of long ride but it was quite fun not really when we got there I was so amazed of what I was seeing I saw a 7 story building right in front of me.

When both buses were at spark Mrs Nua and Mr Burt put us into our rows of boys and girls well when they told us to get into our rows we straight away did that and headed in the humongous building, down the steps and went into the spot that we needed to be in.

The first thing that we did in that building was when Mr Burt said his speech he said it very well and even in confidence well our first song was Te Atua but first fire paddy would say whakanui e and that was when we would group in together and say our Karakia which is a prayer if you didn't know.

when we sang Te Atua it was kind of long but when we just started singing almost everybody were watching us, when we had finished everyone were applauding and next song was Rona you might not know these songs but just go with it.

Well I don't want to tell you all the songs that we sang so i’m just gonna say one well at the end of all of that singing it was the Haka which is always the last part of our performance I went hard out and I was in the middle also the camera was facing straight at me so I was lucky.

When we went back up the stairs there was food waiting outside it was for a little snack there was quiche, fruit, water to drink and some nice as sandwiches well that was all made from spark and all that made me full.

When we finished eating the two buses were still waiting but before we left all of us got to choose a bag that had a cap and drink bottle inside we were just singing outside the spark building, people were taking photos or videos but finally we went into the bus and headed off.

In the bus it was even louder than before almost everyone was singing songs but I was talking to a boy named falcon he is fire paddy's son he’s a cool guy to meet he gets along really well we were talking on the bus or basicly the whole time.

well when we got back to school we were just like doing the same thing of what we always do but my class were filming for our prizegiving we were doing the whip and nae nae and a dance to a song called call me on my cellphone.

Genoratorsaurus

The genoratorsaurus is a flying type of a dinosaur. 

The genoratorsaurus has very, very strong body armour. It has a special type of Venom that it spits into other dinosaurs eyes. Also has a very strong hammer tail for breaking bones. The Genoratorsaurus also has sharp wings for slicing through huge trees. 

He lives in a wild forest full of ferocious predators. Everywhere around him and even around all the other dinosaurs too.

The genoratorsaurus is a herbivore which is a plant eater. They ate leaves, tree logs, bushes and Christmas trees.

The dinosaurs communicated by using sign language.

The genoratorsaurus lived 20,000 million years ago in the Jurassic period.

Dino dictation

Stomping loudly through the jungle, the giant Tyrannosaurus rex was hunting for food. His stomach growled loudly, food was scarce and he hadn't eaten in three days.

Nervously hiding behind a clump of trees a herd of triceratops waited. With each huge step the T. rex got closer and closer. With his strong sense of smell he could easily find these small dinosaurs.

Immersion assembly

In the beginning of term 4, our school teachers were performing in a little movie for the  immersion assembly. Team two were performing about dinosaurs for this term which was named survivors, the team two teachers were also talking about how dinosaurs became extinct.      

After the movie which was made with green screen, everyone was clapping hard out I couldn't even stop. After  team two brought out barney the purple dinosaur there was really a person in  the   barney costume but maybe he is well when team two teachers brought barny out

they picked some kids to come out and give barney a handshake and a big lovely hug, my brother Noah was the last to be picked out of the whole school but Noah gave barney the best hug. 

I am looking forward to learning about dinosaurs and how they were extinct.

school production 2015

Kia ora my name is Toby. this year in 2015 we had a school production. And it was cool, it was based on cinderella but we said cindy. Cindy In Da House, and that was our school production’s name.

by the time my family and cousins were at our school. We were already dressed in our costumes ready for the production. I was little Prince Charming and Marika was Cindy. I was so nervous about being Prince Charming. so i took 3 deep breaths and then I was ready.

The lights went dark. And then you would be able to see some children. I was one of them. After a while you would hear the crowd going wild, cheering. And then it came, my most nervous part of almost the whole production.

And that was when the bells went. Ding,dong,ding,dong then cindy ran off the stage and she left one of her shoes behind but I did a really funny thing, the parents were laughing hard out.

And so was I, but I didn’t know what to do with the shoe. So I just left it there but the real funny part was that I was poking some crazy faces.

At the parents & the kids. There were heaps of other parts in the production. But I only wanted to show one of them. You can see the whole production just buy the disc at pt england school. See you later!

Mrs Nua

Mrs Nua is a very kind and loving teacher, her job is very hard. She is an Associate Principal, she works hard at her job. 

Some of the things that Mrs Nua does at school are helping people, learning and always trying her best. One of her favourite parts of her job is spending time with the kids. She is an amazing teacher who is also smart and lovely, kind and helpful.

Mrs Nua has a great personality. She is magnificent, loves coffee and loves teaching. Sadly for her she is also always in meetings. Normally Mrs Nua is a very hard worker but she is also fun. Mrs Nua really is one in a million.

Mrs Nua we love you so so much, keep it up.

Harold and Lynn

After morning tea room 13 were lining up outside of Harold and Lynn's caravan, Lynn opened up the door we all came inside and sat down. Lynn talked to us about our feelings, we looked at happy, sad and nervous Pictures Lynn gave room 13 some cards and told us to put them on the wall and I was one of them.

After learning about feelings Lynn was explaining body parts it was fun, what I learned about was that under your stomach is a little and big intestine, how cool is that! But after that, Lynn brought out Harold the giraffe room 13 did a huge shout and at the same time we said hi Harold! I joined in, Lynn was talking to Harold and Harold said to the class that we should have a wriggle jiggle it was kind of long.

After the wiggle jiggle we were still learning about feelings, straight after that Lynn showed us a video of a little boy called billy he was Lynn and Harold's friend it. Was really long but it was quite interesting of what we were learning about but what. I really want to say is thank you Harold and Lynn for teaching us about feelings and other stuff, room 13 would love to learn heaps more, thanks!

Toby's time at Rock climbing

kia ora my name is Toby, have you ever been to rock climbing before, well if you haven’t you should come along and enjoy it. Rock climbing is a place where people climb different obstacles, you have a harness strapped to you. Which makes you safe because if you let go, you will come slowly and safely down.

          

One  day when my father, noah and levi were off snowboarding on the mountain when me Jordan and my mum were having a walk around Ohakune which is the name for the town and at the town we found a place that had rock climbing in the back room, so me, Jordan and my mum walked inside the place and went to the back room where the rock climbing was, the room was only with a little amount of people.

When we were still looking of what was going on a lady popped up and said’’hello would you guys like to go in and have a climb, she said, my mum replied and said’’ yes, it costed us 30 $ but me and Jordan were excited! The lady took us into a room and told me and Jordan to put a harness on ourselves, it would keep us safe from just falling down and crashing onto the floor.

When me and Jordan were  ready, the lady said to us’’you may go in, so we did, me and Jordan tried out different obstacles it was totally fun we took lots of photos but one time on that day me and Jordan decided to have a race and I thrashed him, after the race Jordan was so angry that he lost.

Toby's amazing story

Ki ora, and hello have you ever been to Mount Ruapehu, well if you haven't you should come along and enjoy the adventure.


Ohakune is a town  where people sometimes live in but most of them live in baches which are holiday houses. We stayed in a cool one, there was a spa and a sweet TV.
The house was also humungous. 


The trip took us 5 hours to get there. It was quite cool in the car since me, Noah and my mum were eating biscuits and listening to the car music. 



When we got there, our family unpacked the car with all our stuff in it. The next morning I woke up and awoke Jordan since the other night we had a deal that whoever wakes up first will have to wake up the other person.


 Together we watched TV, until Noah came along and joined us. But as soon as we finished a TV show named Generator Rex my dad told us to turn the TV off.


When I was finished putting my snowboarding gear on, I had a little play outside until we had to go to the mountain and snowboard down it.

I've been learning S's which you first snowboard down but at the same time you make the letter S all the way down the mountain, on the curves of the S you do heels and toes.

Kapa Haka Performance

Bouncy castle

Last Friday during assembly Mr Burt told that the whole school would have a turn on the inflatable bouncy castle. I was totally excited, he said that the whole school would have two turns each, also in partners of two.

Once we were in class we sat down on the mat and waited for the other extension kids. Then when the others arrived we were planning to make our movies. When we finished parts of our movie, Mr Jacobsen came to our classroom and said "take your shoes and socks off because it's your guys turn to go on the bouncy castle." Everybody was so excited when we were lining up.

We walked to the huge line. When we were lining up, we were thinking of what we were going to do. I thought about doing a penguin down the stripy slide. When it was my turn I clambered up the handles by doing one after another, we would only get two turns on the inflatable castle. When I got to the top I plummeted down by shooting down like a penguin.

After our turn we lined up behind our class. Then on our next turn I was a cannonball. Our turns were all finished, we had a great time, thank you Tamaki Pride.

Kiwisport basketball

Every Tuesday after lunch Room 13 goes to Kiwisport  basketball with two coaches named coach Vinnie and coach Shenice.

When our class arrives at basketball we sit on the cool hall ground. We warm up our muscles by playing these games, stuck in the mud, red light green light, octopus and line tiggy.

Coach Vinnie taught us some skills, they were v dribbles, bongo drums and shooting like a waiter. He said"Never double dribble in basketball." These skills will help us when we play basketball.

At the end of our lesson we play a game where our whole class gets to play together. The is for the team who gets the most goals up to the number 5. The winning team gets to aeroplane around the hall.

My favourite thing about Kiwisport basketball was shooting and getting goals. What I learnt was v dribbling it was fun, v dribbling.

Thanks coach Vinnie and coach Shenice for teaching us new skills about basketball.

Fraction fish

We have been learning about fractions. These fish teach us about equal parts of a circle.

R13 mr bean

 The fat old lady barked and pointed at the long grass with her walking stick. “Cut the grass, Mr Bean” she shouted while looking at the old lawn mower. Reluctantly, Mr Bean headed over to start the rusty old machine.

“Splutter splutter” Smoke poured from the mower. Mr Bean looked around, he wasn’t one for hard work. He knew there had to be an easier way. Out of the corner of his eye Mr Bean noticed the cage full of little bunny rabbits.

Picking the grass, Mr bean went over to the cage and gave a bunch to the rabbits. Quickly they gobbled up the sweet green treat. Now he had an idea.

Tinkering in his shed, Mr bean created the perfect tool for a man as lazy as himself, a rabbit lawnmower. After sending the bunnies to work, he relaxed back in his lawn chair and enjoyed a cool glass of lemonade.

Uptown Funk

I made this movie with my friends in year 3 extension.

 The first thing we did was to write new words to Bruno Mars' song - Uptown Funk. Then we had to record ourselves singing. Finally we were able to make our very own MTV.

My Reflection

 I really enjoyed making the movie and watching it was funny.

 I liked working with my brother when he helped us to film. My movie was funny too.

 We messed around a little bit and sometimes argued with each other.

 We need to get on with our work and work as a team.

 Learning that we can write songs and  that it was lots of fun.

 All about using Garageband and iMovie. Also how to work as a team.

Girl and robot

Clang,clang went the tools in the quiet dark factory.Metal lay across the floor while beams trailed across the beams and ceiling. Hard at work the inventor knew that her dream was possible.

Something was wrong it should work. The robot should spring to life. Thinking thinking thinking. A twist here, a slight adjustment there. Full steam ahead. 

Marshmallows

Beside a lake surrounded by tall trees a small boy toasted marshmallows over a warm fire. Thump thump came a noise from behind him. He looked round and jumped up. Facing the monster the boy held his marshmallow stick out like a sword.

Luckily for the boy he noticed that the monster was only interested in his marshmallows.  Carefully he held out a marshmallow and the monster snatched it up with his tongue. He was like a performing dog the monster kept doing tricks until he realised that the marshmallows had all disappeared. 

Luke NOLA

Last Friday after morning tea our class was confused because of what we were doing,our class was wondering also of where we were going but actually we were going to the school hall but also still none of us never knew where we were still going, when we finally reached the hall there was a special guest there and his name was Mario, But actually his name was Luke Nola and he was talking about all this that has come from kids brains ''wait I forgot to say that the guest you know Luke nola yea he's an inventor and we had a great time with him but I'm still not finished well anyways,so That team 3 and the year 4's could also watch movies on the big screen behind Luke, because Luke set up the screen and something popped up on the humongous screen which you know that was behind Luke Nola, so when the year 3's &  4's were watching all these videos about kids inventions but also I was wondering of what Luke was doing ,he was like doing something on an iPad but he was maybe getting an app on our iPads about the inventing so that us year 3's could play on it, after all the movies that were super awesome Miss King handed out the iPads but after that we actually did find out that on our iPads There was aye new app and it was called inventions and also guess what,I was right! We had a so fun time playing on the app ,after playing on the app it was time for us To go ,well it still wasn't us that were there but we were still heading off so bye bye.

When it was the middle of Kapahaka,that the timer told us we had to go to class because it was time to go swimming. If we'd stayed at Kapahaka we wouldn't be going swimming. 

So where was i again? Oh yeah...

I was at the bit when we were getting changed  into our togs in our class, but the girls get changed in the toilets. Anyhoo, I will just skip the walking to the pools.

So here we go again. 

1. In the pool we did some swimming lessons. Our teacher was Eloween and she taught the group to do back stroke and there are some more but I can't remember them. After all the swimming lessons, when we were in the middle of the pool I saw class 14 sitting on the chairs.when the other groups were getting out, our group was still in the pool, a couple of minutes ago we had to get out of the pool because our class was already lined up so Eloween told us to get out of the pool,cause we were in the middle of the pool we could have a free swim back so off we went to get out of the pool.

SHARK! Part 2

After noah, Jordan and mum in the shark cage Levi went into the shark cage, I said "wait what about mum?" but as soon as I turned around I saw mum waiting for Levi because before I turned around and looked at mum.

I heard someone calling Levi. It was mum.

When they were in the shark cage they were also holding a go pro. If you don't know what a go pro is it's a camera.

The amazing story of Kelly Tarltons

When I woke up, there was an adventure ahead of us today to Kelly Tarlton's sea life. If you don't know what Kelly Tarlton's is... It's a place where heaps of sea life and fish are. It is underground. Kelly Tarlton's is a place but a name of a man, because Kelly is the one who came up with the ideas. That's why his name is up as the title.

What's happening at Kelly Tarltons today is that my brothers are going snorkelling in the shark cage. Aunty Sammy gave us tickets from Christmas so the older boys can go in the shark cage http://www.kellytarltons.co.nz/experiences/shark-dive-xtreme/

I wasn't in the shark cage because I wasn't tall enough. You have be 1.3 metres tall to go.
I played this saw shark game with Levi and we looked around at heaps of places and took photos.
The big wiggly stingrays were my favourite because they can sting you. They looked like an eel slithering in the water!

I saw my Mum, Noah and Jordan snorkelling in the freezing cold water, holding a GoPro and also taking videos.

Next time when I'm old enough, I would want to go in the shark cage.

The amazing story of Festival One

Festival One is a Christian place where bands play music. My favourite bands are Late 80s Mercedes and Newworldson.

When we were setting up I was washing my Jandals and cleaning my feet with a drink bootle. Also I had another drink with the same drink bottle when I was having my good slushy drink. I heard a growling noise and it was my father, Anthony, I thought that he was calling someone else but instead he was calling me and he said "we've got to move the tent". anyhoo, after working we went to a place called the villege there were places where you can buy stuff. we had our coisuns with us so where we were oh yea but when we came back we had all these lolies in our hands.

Kaiteriteri

Last year on an exciting trip we went to Kaiteriteri. We were staying at Kaiteri for two weeks. We were also staying to tramp it took us a long time. Then we went on a boat. It was cold. We travled there from day to night. It also took us two days and 3 hours to get there. Anyhoo, in the morning we had to drive again but as soon as posible we saw a sign and the sign said Kaiteri so when we found our spot to setup.
