Kia orana Toby, You have made two clear points about why sneaking aboard the boat was necessary for Maui. 1) He needs to take very opportunity to spend time with his brothers. Once they get to know him, he will be able to earn their trust. 2) There are important life skills he lacks that he needs to learn from his brothers. If you were in a similar position to Maui would you trick your siblings or except that you will be left out?
