About 20 years ago Maungakiekie/One tree hill only had one tree on the mountain but one man named Mike Smith had cut down the tree. A few years ago
the one tree was too unstable to stay on the mountain so they cut down the whole tree, some other people started to plant more and more trees on the mountain.
