What Has Happened To Miss West?

Staring at the classroom door, ready to learn, I strolled into the classroom, but where was Miss West, was she homesick, was there zombies outside her house so she didn’t want to get out of bed.

Was it that she wanted to go to the toilet but couldn’t get off the seat because their was sticky glue on it or was it because she hated us “well i’m out of options” I said quietly. “Hey Toby” I heard from a familiar voice as I turned around and saw that it was Benjiman.

“Do you know where Miss West is?” he asked as I nodded sideways, “no” I replied looking around if she was hiding, but instead I saw Freedom out of the peek of my eye.

“Maybe Freedom will know” I said to benjy “Freedom!” Benjy shouted looking if Freedom would turn around “yeah!” he shouted back as we saw his sparkling eyes of excitement, as the second bell rang and interrupted Benjy.

“Oh no, i’m late for school!” shouted Miss West as she was stuck inside her house with vampires invading her part of town “how will I ever get to school with a bunch of vampires blocking every exit inside my house!”.

As Miss West thought of a plan trying to block out the scariness outside. She could hear screams of the other town people then the screams were suddenly silenced.

“Pardon” said Freedom nicely “do you know where Miss West is?” I said instead of Benjamin “I think I saw her trapped inside her house on the way to school, but I didn’t know why she wouldn’t just come outside” he replied, “well if something’s wrong, then we better go and find out, let’s get some weapons first!” I said confidently.

We got into the shed and grabbed our favourite weapons stashed in a secret place “same as always” benjy said grabbing a pitchfork as I grabbed binoculars and Freedom had a spoon. We were ready!

“Good thoughts, Good thoughts” Miss West said frighteningly again and again, after a few deep breaths she finally came up with a plan “yes, scare them with toilet water, yes great plan!”

Bing Bing Bing Bing Bing the telephone rang as the fat Mr Zarvar rose tiredly from his bed he grabbed the telephone and noticed that it was the principal of Pt England School he talked to the principal for about two minutes then shut the phone on the phone holder.

“Yes, I am a reliever for today!” Mr Zarvar got dressed so quickly that he was late for school “What, we had to have this, boring reliever” some of room 10 started saying as Mr Zarvar smile slowly faded away.

We walked across the streets carrying binoculars, a pitchfork and a spoon we thought they were great weapons for people who needed help “her house is just around this corner.” Freedom said They turned left and… “i’m going” said benjy “i’ll go with you”said Freedom all they could see was… Vampires!

Miss West dashed across the room to the toilet once she finished her plan she was going to make scary faces with plates to use as a distraction and use the toilet water to throw at them. She filled the buckets with toilet water and stashed them in special places. Once she had done that, she drew lots of ugly faces on the plates.

“get back here guys, we chose to do this, but now we are going to run away” I said to Freedom and Benjy giving them confidence once they came back I held my shoulder on each of them and slung them back “ahhhhhhhhh!” I screamed running for my life.

Five Vampires turned and as the two boys looked back they saw the five vampires ferocious eyes as they chased us all the way back to school, they could smell more blood as one called to the others “Human blood” it said scarily as the three little year 5’s hid under the trailer, petrified.

Room 10 sat there bored as Mr Zarvar marked the roll quietly with his glasses on, some of the students were so bored that they even started snoring especially the girls but the boys were sleep talking, now that got annoying.

Miss West noticed that most of the vampires were floating away in the direction of the school but she still saw two more vampires so she had to scare them she crawled next to the window and held the scary face out, one of them glided to the window as Miss West climbed up the chimney and splat!

The vampire dissolved into the wind as the other vampire saw what had happened and quickly flew off, Miss West could finally drive her way to school but what she didn’t know was that all the vampires had already started invading with the year ones then higher and higher each time.

The vampires had finished with the year 3’s, the vampires glided up the stairway. The children of room 10 peeked out of the window and saw… Death.

As the Vampires rushed through the doors searching for more and more blood Caleb could see one sculling the blood from Mr Moran’s neck as the Principal Mr Burt called out “everyone evacuate the school we are being attacked!” He shouted on the sirens.

Everyone panicking dashing out the doors and windows to the entrances when they saw the entrance they could see two vampires floating at every gate, there was no escape “What will we do” I said frighteningly.

She arrived at the gateway frowning seeing two ragged cloaks and a head she recognized that it might be the children so she walked in like she never saw them. Then “roarrr, I got you” Miss West said as the two vampires turned their heads “Oh no, not you guys again, bye bye” she ran to the car and grabbed toilet water and splat!

She had poured two buckets on each of them, then the other vampires at every entrance. She gave a big sigh of relief as everyone got out of their classes and cheered for Miss West but she felt a little bit sad after what had happened to Mr Moran and a few others, but most people were still alive and that was what she was happy about. “Glad that Mr Zarvar got killed” Josh whispered to Jacob "don't say that!" snapped Jacob while they screamed "hooray!!".

Brief Development

We are designing land boats, to help us work together to create and to ride around on the court, just outside our class! We are doing this because this terms topic for this year is about technology. We are also learning about what technology Maori used in the past before the Pakeha arrived.

Technology can be many things, not just phones, ipads, computers, and all sorts of that kind of stuff, technology can also be: shoes, jackets, clothing and loads of other things not just things that have electricity inside them.

Room 10 are also making land boats because when we grow up we can be really good at building or even be an engineer, you could get a very good scholarship to a job or to university!

Before we make the big land boat, you always need to build a prototype. A prototype is a small feature of the big version, they make the prototypes so that they already know what materials there using.

While you’re making the prototype you do not want to use much of the material because then you will not have any left to build the big creation.

There are two different attributes, physical attributes and functional, in the next paragraph I will be talking about physical attributes.

Physical attributes are things that you need to build something. Example: If i’m making a boat I will need a motor, some fuel, and 1 driver’s seat. So Physical attributes are parts that you need to build something.

Functional attributes are when you have the parts but you describe what they’re for. Example: I am making a bike and I need a seat to sit on while i’m cycling. So functional attributes are when you have the parts and you describe what they’re for.

Perfect Coin Catch

Shivering nervously as our teacher Miss West handed us all 1 counter, she explained the game to us while we were inside the classroom. I got a dark black colored counter, she explained the rules of the game.

  1. Your not allowed to pick up any coins that are not yours!
  2. Once you’ve caught one you put your hand up then I will give you another counter!
  3. If you cheat you're disqualified
  4. Whoever has the most counters wins!

“ Three, two, one, go!” Miss West shouted, We had to place the coin on our elbow then flick it up and catch it, I had already started, flicking it up in the air I seized the coin in my palm and… “I got it!” I shouted while I raised my hand in the soft breeze as Miss West gave me another counter.
On my first catch of having two coins, I just kept on getting it. Coin after coin after coin I got until “five minutes left everyone!” Miss West roared “oh shoot” “come on Toby come on” I kept saying pushing myself into a higher level.
I had nine counters, but when I got more concentrated and started to focus I flicked it up and tadaa “yay, yes, yes!” I shouted “I’m on ten counters! Yes!” just as I got ten counters Miss West demanded “ everyone back inside and get ready to learn new things!

What is that?

I think that this is a shoe or boot without laces, maybe cotton inside the shoe to keep it comfortable inside, it could be the material leather to keep the shoe warm. I also think the materials that it is made out of is carbon fibre because since it is a waterproof and light material it could be used to walk on water.

I think that this shoe product is used for skydiving because when you jump
out of the plane if you're going too fast you  slap both of your legs then parachutes come out of the bottom of the shoes.

This product is a Smartshoe made in 2014. It has a sizable fit so that when you put them on they fit into your size. Also they have heaters on the bottom of the inside part of the shoe letting your feet boil while you're wearing them. It is controlled by your phone. First you need to get the app on your phone to control the shoe!

Horse Riding

Horse riding

Driving to Ti Tree horse trek to go horse riding. It was the holidays of term 1 2017, we had 2 other members with us Haare and Hendrix, their really cool, Hendrix is 5 years old, Haare is 24 years old! This is Hendrix’s first time going horse riding, so he’s Super excited. We also had 1 other member my cousin, Cameryn!

The car trip took about half an hour until we arrived at the mysterious place it was really exciting and fun in the car trip. We were listening to music, chatting to each other and laughing mostly. It was really cool to see how we were all getting along.

“Wow” we all said slowly when we came through the beautiful gates of amazingness! We found a parking space and zoomed right into it, Hendrix ashing out of the door and already scouting the place, it smelt pretty bad but it was alright.

We came a little too early so we decided to have some snacks, my mum pulled up a bag full of Rice Wheel packets and 1 big bag of Doritos! “Delicious!” I shouted, “Yum yum” said Hendrix, “Fantastic” Cameryn called.

Once we had all gulped the food down our throats and into our belly’s, all the kids including myself all dashed to the horses on the side of the road. What we did while we were still there was feed the tall and long grass which was held on the other side of the road. We pulled it with all our strength then fed it to the horse’s.

It also really stank, it smelt so bad that I went back to the space that we were having food and almost threw up! So I gulped a whole lot of water and felt cosy and comfortable so I lay, enjoying the sunsets breeze of nice chilli wind flowing across the landscape. When I heard voices crackling upon my ears, I arose and saw a lady talking to my Mum and Haare as I turned around and saw the others still feeding the horse’s!

When she told us all to come over we all went to the mini cabin where the helmets were all stored “this is your size she said, “could you stand over there where the others are while I do this persons helmet” she commanded to all of us. Once we had all gotten our helmets on my mum took a few photos while we were still inside the cabin!

Here’s some photos below!

We went outside and waited near the stool where you get on your horse “could you stand right on this stool while I get your horse” she pointed at Noah “whoa” we all said while Noah got onto the horse and parked it over at the stable his horse’s name was… Boissy, then Haare got onto hers, I can’t remember what her horse’s name was, but it was fat.

Cameryn had a pony, it was named… Breeze, she had the smallest horse, Jordan got onto his it was a medium size, Jordan’s was named… Lucky. Hendrix stood on the stool while the instructor bought over the biggest horse out of all of us but what’s funny is that the horse’s name was… Dennis, but finally, it was my turn “whoa, that’s a big horse”  I said quietly as I got on, my horse’s name was… Prince. My horse was about the same size as Hendrix’s horse, Dennis!

Here’s some photos below!

Once I had got on the instructor told me to wait and let the others pass. When they had all gone Prince started to trot but very slowly, he was a little bit tired after doing all these things before we came, “Whack him in the shoulder, he’ll start to walk faster” the instructor told me. We had a long journey ahead of us.

We went up into the mountains, staying on the track after a while Prince decided to stop “ Why have you stopped, Prince?” I asked, but no reply came to me, after 5 seconds of waiting, Prince was on the track again. While he was marching towards the others I turned my head and what did I see… Poo, “ewww, yuck” I slapped Prince again and followed the others.

It got a little tough trying to handle Prince, especially when turning, now that got annoying. After a while when we got more up into the hills the instructor asked me “ do you want to come with us as we gallop to the rest of the herd?” since we were so far behind “ ahh, no thank you” I replied. They went off as I stayed behind.

When I saw them galloping Prince got attracted to what fun the other horse’s had, so he started to gallop “whoa, slow down boy, slow down” I demanded. As we passed the dark forest the instructor told us “we’re entering the bush people, we’re entering the bush” she got quite funny at times, well as we entered the bush we all had a big steep downhill to ride down “ lie back and feet forward!” the instructor shouted so I lay back, put my legs forward. Once we had travelled past the steep hill in the the bushes I could see… “look a fantail!” shouted Noah as he pointed to where it was.

“I saw it too!” I shouted back looking into the thin tree’s of where it was standing. About five minutes later we were on the track again, we came up another steep hill but it was very small, “we’re here” the instructor said “whoa” look at that view everyone kept saying while I could see the sky tower from where I was, but very small of course.

w e turned around and went back but another way back, when we were on the track turning to the different path the instructor told us “ does anybody want to trot with me?” everyone did except for me and Noah we just stayed behind while the others dashed away trotting fast and faster and faster until they… Stopped!

We both carried on together the whole way back until we came to a halt. Put my horse in the stable, thanked the instructor and already on our way home!
